We got the hardwood floor quotes back and to tell you the truth, it's not what I'd hoped for.
It's not the price - although that wasn't so nice - but overall I'm not feeling 100% confident in pushing forward with this project right now. There are issues with whether the floors can be sanded again and how much stain they'll take. My vision and the floor guys vision are just not matching.
Our options for now:
- Stay the course with the dark hardwood I want using the existing floors - unsure if that can happen
- Paint the floors a whitish / ivory color for a cottage feel
- Lay new floor
- Carpet in the bedrooms which Mr. B is not fully convinced of
As of now, I'm skipping this step and moving on to painting. For now, we'll just have to find a pretty rug and make-do. It's more important to get the room "up and running" versus wasting time with the floors. We can come back to that later. There will be a British invasion soon enough and Mama H. needs to come visit for some motivation and inspiration.
