Spring has sprung!

Working on the grate on Saturday gave me some time to wander around the yard and enjoy the sunshine.  I have never had my *own* yard and don't know the slightest thing about gardening or lawn care in general. My thumbs are definitely not green.  Despite the horrific state of affairs in the yard - that much I do know - I came across some signs of life!

Firstly, bonus points if you can tell me what kind of flowers these are? As my bestie Whitney pointed out, it must be good Karma for the AH if these are blooming. Purple is my FAVORITE color.

And these bad boys are sprouting along the side of the house. Again, extra credit if you can tell me what they are?! Tulips? Daffodils? Weeds? I am too impatient to wait for them to bloom. And what if I'm supposed to be taking care of them? This is too much pressure...

But the thought of freshly cut flowers from my own yard is enough for me to learn to have green thumbs!

  1. The purple is a crocus and the yet-to-blooms should be daffodils (at least that's my best bet based on the skinny leaves!)

  2. Ali wins the gardening prize at TAH!! Thanks girl - crocus and daffodils, NOT weeds. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge! I'll be on the lookout for other unidentified greenage in the garden and may ask you for more help :-)

  3. Thanks so much Kate! It was a great way to use all of treys old bachelor pad furniture. The paint color is Benjamin Moore titanium. It is a very light grey that really changes with the light. It is so versatile, I love it!
