The Anniversary Home is officially on the market!

In fact, we have our first viewing this afternoon. I did a special tidy/clean last night, bought some pretty flowers and made sure to leave all the lights on this morning when I left for work. We'll see how long before my enthusiasm runs dry and I'm scrambling last minute to throw junk in drawers to make the house look decent. 

So friends, if you know anyone who wants to buy a beautiful Victorian farmhouse in Pennsylvania, please send them my blog or email. I'd be happy to put the hard sell on them tell them more about this fabulous house.

I mean, who wouldn't want to live here?

This vintage style Victorian with wraparound porch was the original home of the Mayor of the town and located in a great school district. Recent updates have made this home comfortable and inviting. New designer kitchen with Thomasville cabinets, farmhouse sink, over-sized center island, high-end stainless steel appliances, granite and new hardwood floors. Formal dining room adjacent to kitchen with tall pillars defining the space. Formal living room with hardwood floors and gorgeous wood pocket doors. Climb the grand, rich wood staircase to the second floor featuring a large main suite with a wall of windows, second bedroom and library / office with full hall bath. Third floor features two additional bedrooms, both generous in size and rich in woodworking. Existing stable barn, prime for renovations as family annex and currently acting as storage and two car garage. Home features hardwood floors throughout most of home, new roof, new gutters, new chimney capping, new carpets, new sand mound, well tank, etc.

Before & In-Progress: Office Photo Dump

The only thing stopping me from this post was trying to think of some witty, engaging, relevant text to accompany the pictures from the office re-do. Well, that and the fact there's been no time to write it. Hello, JESSIE SPANO.

I can officially say that I'm fresh out of witty, engaging, relevant ideas. My best ideas happen in the shower in the morning or on the drive home from work in the evenings. I've had a shower every day this week and a drive home every night this week. I got nothing. Nada.

Plan B? Just post the darn pictures. No editing this time. The place was a worksite and that's what your gonna get. Like it or not. But I know you will so I can pretend to be tough. Enjoy!

TAH is not really known for her "natural lighting" even though there's a ton of windows (Try 33. Window replacement quote gave me severe anxiety.) I take what I can get with sunlight!

Wouldn't be a room redecoration without Mr. B and his cup(s!) of tea!

Paint color test. We ended up using 2nd from left: Accessible Beige, Sherwin Williams.

It was snowing on April Fools. Cruel, cruel trick Mama Nature!

Because every worksite needs a box of Cheez-Its.

(I like calling it a worksite for some reason? I recognize that usually worksites are where skyscrapers are built, but this is the closest I'm going to get to that, so indulge me please.)

Paint is drying here, so may look uneven to the untrained eye!

Accessible Beige is probably the lamest paint color name I've ever heard. Way to really sell me.

But I LOVE this color. Light, airy-fairy, and not too "beige-y".

And that's where the photo fun stops. I got tired of painting, closed the door to the room, and haven't really looked at it in a week. We still need one more coat of white paint on the bottom.

If you ever attempt this project - and you should because its easy - do yourself a favor and paint the bottom white before you put the boards up. DUH.

Mr. B & Mama H's surprise...

The office is undergoing a minor facelift.  Here's what I came home to last night:

Whose husband and mother wake up on a Monday morning and decide they are going to put in Board and Batten on a whim? Mine do. That's #winning, Charlie Sheen style.

Our project to-do list this week included painting the office, so I asked Mr. B. what color he would like. We looked for inspiration at Lowe's and there was none to be found. So on Monday morning, he said he wanted beadboard. Fair enough. I love beadboard. I suggested he google Board and Batten to see if he liked that as well. And then I left for work.

Fast forward 12 hours later and now you understand my shock and excitement that this project is going full steam ahead with no looking back.

Minus a few hiccups yesterday. (Generally, I would recommend you at least do a minimal amount of research and planning before undertaking this type of project. Just sayin.)
